Make batteries, of course! In How Things Work, the campers were exploring the various ways of how electricity works so they started off with lemons.
So, how, you ask, do you get Lemons to cause electricity? Well, these young campers first
started off with fresh lemons, some copper wire, and two nails.
After some intelligent wiring, the campers pushed some nails into the lemon. And, voila, you have a battery!
The campers were allowed to feel the faint electric flow that was caused by the wires and nails in the lemon. After everyone had their lemon working as a battery, they lit LED lights.
The campers, in How Things Work, have been enjoying their first day back getting to explore the electrical properties of fruit!
