Thanks, Scrapbookers!

The Scrapbookers presenting
the Admin staff a
Scrapbook!
As the camp session draws to a close, our Scrapbook campers presented the admin staff with a special treat: a Scrapbook of Congo Camp.

With all of the excellent work they have done on their own books, Ms. Ashley, Mr. Dan, and Ms. Ana were all excited to receive a scrapbook of the various activities, people, and events that occur at Congo Camp.

We all thank the Scrapbook camp for the excellent work they did and the Scrapbook they gave to Congo Camp!

Scrapbooking Style

The various Scrapbooks made by
our campers!
The Scrapbooking campers have had a blast over the past two weeks preparing, designing, and making their scrapbooks.

Each scrapbooker tried to ensure that their style was present in their scrapbook.  They all tried to make the scrapbook reflective of the theme they wanted to convey and did really well in accomplishing this.

All of the scrapbookers are excited to take their books home, and, in the future, use the skills they learned over the past two weeks to make scrapbooks in the future!

Themed Page Day

One of the Scrapbookers' themed page.
For our Scrapbooking campers, today was a day to create a specific theme page for their scrapbook.  There were many themes that were shown by the various campers.

One camper did a spooky Halloween theme to show the many costumes her and her friends wore during the holiday.

Another camper focused on a specific vacation that they had taken.  All of the scrapbookers are anxious to finish their book, but they are definitely showing patience and determination to finish it well.

Scrapbooking Styles

Each campers' scrapbooks.
Scrapbooking campers enjoyed their day by getting to finish up some more pages in their books.  Each of the books is definitely creative and has its own personality and style.

Today, though, the scrapbookers took a break and played a unique game called, "backphone".  You may have played the game, "telephone", before, in which a "statement" is whispered between campers and the final person says the "statement".

Generally, the final person has a very modified version of the statement; well, in this game, the campers drew letters on each others' backs and the final person had to figure out the word.

All of the Scrapbookers enjoyed this game and had lots of fun finishing up a few of their pages today.

Scrapbooking Sketches out New Pages

The campers preparing their pages.
Our Scrapbooking camp continued making their scrapbooks today and started to add more images to their books.

Since they had learned that a major "do" of scrapbooking is framing, today they ensured that their pictures had frames with them.

The scrapbookers were each trying to decide what would be the focus of their pages and are looking forward to finishing up their first week tomorrow.

We hope these scrapbookers have had fun this week!

A Special Activity for Scrapbooking

Our Scrapbookers have been working diligently on completing their scrapbook.  Each page shows a well-prepared design and excellent themes.

But, today, the scrapbookers took a break from their beautiful books to create a welcome sign for their door.  Each camper selected a letter of Scrapbook and designed it as if it were a page in their book.

Once they finished their letter, each letter was then posted on the door to create a "Scrapbook" sign.  Check out a picture of this excellent artwork!

Scrapbooking Memories

The Dos. . .
And Don'ts of Scrapbooking.
As Scrapbooking Camp has started its second day, the campers had to learn more of the dos and don'ts of scrapbooking and continued to make their scrapbooks.

They started delving more into their books today by selecting a theme for the second page.  Some people chose family, others chose vacations, and some chose summer.

To ensure each page is done well, the campers have the "dos and don'ts" posted on the board.  A quick glance at any of the scrapbooks, though, show how well these campers are following these helpful hints.

Sorting Out the Summer in Scrapbooking

One of the front pages a future scrapbook.
Today, one of the specialty camps this session is Scrapbooking. With the many activities and events that can happen during a school year and summer, sometimes sorting it all out can be a little difficult. But, no worries, our Scrapbooking counselors are to the rescue.

In Scrapbooking camp, the counselors are helping the campers learn how to create unique and well-designed scrapbooks.

This morning they started by creating the cover for their scrapbooks. Each of the covers represented the campers' personalities. We can't wait to see the many pictures that these campers include in their scrapbooks.
