Today was Zippy's 5th birthday and Congo Camp threw him a special birthday bash. Zippy made rounds on campus, popped in and out of classes, and was greeted with hugs everywhere he went. While at lunch, all the campers sung Happy Birthday to Zippy which made his birthday extra special. As a treat for all of his favorite campers, Zippy bought everyone tasty frozen ices. The birthday celebration will continue with Zippy opening all his birthday cards and continuing to see all his favorite campers.
Occasionally, Zippy comes out of his shell and greets some of our wonderful campers. One of our campers got a chance to celebrate her birthday with Zippy this afternoon. Her lucky parents won the "Make It a Zippy Day" in the Congressional auction and the camper and her friends got to celebrate her birthday with Zippy.
Cupcakes, gift bags, and fun filled the room and Zippy enjoyed getting to say "hi" to all of his fans! It's always fun to see our favorite Turtle around Congo Camp and he always looks forward to receiving letters in his mailbox--in front of the Camp Office! Keep your eyes open, campers and parents, to see if you spot Zippy the next time he is out enjoying a day at Congo Camp.
